i was reading the papers.. and i came across the part about Australia pleading to Singapore to let some Veit-Australian guy off from capital punishment..
now.. most people arent proud of Singapore..but frankly..i am.. althoug there are a million and one restrictions/laws... im proud of my country..why?
Here..is wad many people call a 'small' country.. but this small country is no pushover.. remmber the Micahel Fay incident? Remeber how Singapore told a world superpower to shut up and mind its own business its a crude version lah.. the governmet conveyed the message nicely though).. and now..its a repeat..
some ppl in the Australian government arent happy.. but i seriously stand by Singapore..not cos its my country..but cos of the reason.. Singapore's stand on drugs is seriously unbelievable.. 1.5GRAMS of heroin.. and off to the gallows u head to.. that guy..had 400 GRAMS!! mad idiot seriously..
If singapore were to let this idot go..say..he gets life imprisonment (usually.. that means 20-30 yrs).. it'll be sending the wrong msg tp the world.. we'll be indirectly encouraging people to bring drugs into the country.. that y i admire my country.. small..but we're no pushovers.. we have our laws..and you BETTER abide them.. if you dont..u will face the music..
same thing if a singaporean is apprehended in another country..singapore will NOT do anything to try to appeal for a lighter sentence.. u did wrong..u face the punishment.. singapore will only ensure that the citizen is treated well i nprison..thats all..
power ah.. smaller than the state of Johor by 80 times.. but when it comes to our laws.. we dont give face.. to the people hu support the idea of that idiot having a lighter sentence.. WAKE UP YOUR DAMN IDEA! it thanks to the 'unreasonable' n 'super stirct' laws in singapore.. that YOu..yes YOU.. can enjoy safety.. there is a erason why singapore is one of the world's safest countries.. there also a reason why rich arses come ehre to invest money..so that singaporeans can have a job..its cos of the laws that were set in place to protect the well being of YOU. go and think about it.. seriously.. and if u can..name me ONE law..that is really dumb..cos iseriously cant think of any.. :P
and also..one more thing..the laws are also the reason why.Singapore grew from a third world country..to a first world country..in 3 deaces.. thats a damn miracle.. and NO other country can beat that achivement.. not even come close.. its supposedly impossible..hehz..but right here on this teeny weeny island called Singapore.. nothing is impossible.. IF u follow the laws..hehe
dunno why..feeling patriotic now..hahahahahhaa... its my country..if im not here..where can i be?
